Boy George

George Alan ODowd, known professionally as Boy George, is an English singer, songwriter, DJ, fashion designer and photographer. He is the lead singer of the Grammy and Brit Awardwinning pop band Culture Club. At the height of the bands fame, during the 1980s, they recorded global hit songs such as Do You Really Want To Hurt Me, Time and Karma Chameleon and George was known for his soulful voice and androgynous appearance. He was part of the English New Romantic movement which emerged in the late 1970s to the early 1980s. He has been a coach on The Voice UK since 2016.

Boy George was born George Alan ODowd in Eltham, London, onJune 1961, to Jeremiah and Dinah ODowd, and had four brothers and one sister.
